Google suggests that almost all religions are bullshit
There really isn’t any other service in the history of the world that has more accurately or extensively aggregated the collective statements, expressions, biases, fears, and desires of mankind at a particular point in time as Google.
Thus, based on what I found this morning and posted below, we have to conclude that the human race, in general, thinks that religion is, in a word, bullshit.
First, let’s look at the world’s most hot button religion at the present time and its stated Western adversary:
Yep, apparently we collectively consider both to be bullshit, as well as “from satan”, “of the devil”, and “false” for Islam (along with a few nice descriptors, to be fair) and “not a religion”, “a lie, and “false” for Christianity (along with only one nice description that rather unconvincingly, when lumped in with so many other pejorative terms, claims it is “true”).
Random thought: What does it mean that Islam is also considered to be “Google”? Not “like Google” but simply “Google”. “Islam is Google” it says. Does this mean Google cannot build a data center a few blocks away from Ground Zero? Because that would suck. But I digress…
It’s not just Christianity and Islam that feel Google’s wrath. Here are a few other religions that the search giant also tells us are considered to be bullshit by the masses in varying degrees.
See, we are equal opportunity haters according to Google. Mormons, Buddhists, and Catholics also apparently practice bullshit religions.
In fact, Google just straight up tells us that we think religion, in general, is bullshit.
Interestingly though, a couple of the world’s most well known religions do not suffer the wrath of our collective prejudice, at least as cataloged by Google.
Judaism (which, if you’ll remember, is the father of Christianity and Mormonism and countless others) and Hinduism are spared:
Sure, both are described as “false”, but that’s much better than being called “bullshit”. I anticipate that the anti-Semites among us will chalk this up to a Jewish conspiracy to control Google’s search suggest tool, but such ignorance is to be expected.
Actually, in this case, Google is spot on; the first suggestion for “Judaism is” turns out to be “a race.” This is correct based on history. Judaism is actually a race and a religion, and the lines between the two are too blurred to ever be demarcated. Unfortunately, the next suggestion is “not a race”, which pretty sums up the polarization of almost every religious debate in the world’s history.
So here is my final thought with this post: there have been so many religious debates, so many wars, and so many deaths in the name of religion. Yet, Google tells us that the overwhelming world opinion of religion is that it is bullshit, wrong, a lie, a cult, etc.
So tell me again why so much death and destruction has been caused by something so many people obviously disagree with?

Don’t worry; they do the same for “atheism,” and I can’t say their suggestions for “evolution” are much more positive. Others it works for: “scientology” & “kabbalah.”

The google search ‘Islam is google’ is people trying to find websites or images about this exact thing. People want the picture of ‘Islam is’ auto suggestions from google. You would think that would make sense considering you’re writing an article about it.
It’s worth noting that google also says that atheism is bullshit. As a side note there.

Ha! So true. Interesting that Google says humanity is “the devil” and Islam is “of the devil.” Though I think “of the devil” should be attached to all of those others as well. Religion is of the devil…humanity. =P

The reason he didn’t include Atheism is because it’s not a religion.

So, what to make of the Atheist (I say Atheist, they are commonly called “new atheists” though they are actually fundamentalist materialists), sorry, what are we to make of the Atheist persecution complex? You know, how they all commonly assert, somewhat hysterically, that religion is evil and taking over the world?
I see shades of early Christianity, frankly, they are forgetting that their belief system is a useful mythology, not fact, and they are codifying their beliefs.
Google is a religion.

I find it interesting that people think that my “religion” is atheism, just like they think I am a “teabagger” because I don’t want the government stealing all my money. If they need to label me, go ahead. But it doesn’t change what I am, or am not. I do not have any belief in one of your gods, and that doesn’t make me anti-anything. I suppose it makes me non-pro-something, but again, I am not missing anything, and I have no religion. It is like a bicycle not having a wife, or a rock not having a steering wheel.
Okay, seriously, this is really ridiculous.
Looking at this and drawing the conclusion that obviously this means humanity thinks religion is bullshit is simply an incorrect statement. In these responses to it, we can see people arguing about how their religion is right, how athiesm is wrong and vise versa. Don’t you all see that is kind of thing is what puts these “facts” online? You all have different opinions, enough of you have the same opinions to create an objective opinion strong enough for “____ is bullshit” to appear first on Google. But to say that all of this means the world, all of humanity, believes that they themselves are believing in bullshit is just plain stupid and ignorant.
A good example is the “Islam is of the Devil” thing. It is highly likely that is collective opinion was of a group of Christians. Because the opinion was big enough, here it is on the list below the Google sign.

I’ve, like many people, not been able to jettison religion because of a profound reason (well actually two reasons)– !. I know no other way to lessen my fear of death, and 2. I’ve seen religion work. There is something going on. Maybe what’s going is God. What else could it be? But it sure perplexes me why He is so hidden and why so much trouble happens.

According to google (third suggestion), bullshit is “spanish”. Hence religion is bullshit, and bullshit is Spanish. So religion must be popular in Spain.
