I don't own a home and don't plan to for a long time. It's your choice to buy a home and if you choose to then you have to have a bank loan you the money. They have to make money off that or it wouldn't work. Either rent or save up 200 grand of your own money to buy a house. You have sadly bought into the idea that as an American you have to buy a house. You're 25. You don't need to own a house. Life liberty and the pursuit of paying interest on every damn thing you own. Ever ask yourself what interest is anyway? It's a made up number. It's unnecessary. It's just a way for a bank to own your life. There's not much freedom here, brothers. People are losing their homes and new young people like myself (I'm 25) can't afford to buy a new one.
